ROUTE II

Krzeszów (approx. 520 m amsl) – Żurawnica (approx. 715 m amsl) – Lipska Góra (625 m amsl) – Sucha Beskidzka (approx. 345 m amsl)

Walking time: 3 hrs 25 mins

A short trail, ideal as a „warm-up” before the expeditions to the higher parts of the Babia Góra Region. On the trail we will find several charming places and a very interesting rock formation on Żurawnica – Kozie Skały.

The route starts in front of the church in Krzeszów. Here we meet the green trail, which we will follow during the whole trip. We head east, initially along a local asphalt road running among the houses of the village, watching the vast panorama of the Beskids: Mały, Śląsk, Żywiec. Leaving the buildings, we enter the forest and then go up, crossing a scenic clearing and crossing the Żurawnica ridge. To the right of the narrow path, picturesque sandstone outcrops – the Kozie Skały – start appearing. We reach the crossroads of trails and from then on we follow the green and red signs along the ridge and the rocky ridge. After some time we go down to a charming little passage, on which stand some buildings of a tiny settlement Carchel, belonging to Tarnawa Dolna, and a nice chapel.

Behind the saddle, the route again enters the forest and reaches the crossroads, where it leaves the red trail and continues along the green trail signs, passing the peak of the Guszkowa Góra (715 m amsl) and then descends to the Lipie Pass through fields with a splendid view of the Beskid Mountains with the dominant mount Babia Góra in the foreground. Behind the Lipie Pass and the houses of the Lipie housing estate, we enter a rare forest and after several minutes we reach the top of the mount Lipska Góra. The route now descends steeply through the forest to the houses of the Kulasówka housing estate and an asphalt road. A bit further, cross the bridge over the Stryszawka river and the railway line Sucha Beskidzka – Żywiec, we turn left and after ten minutes walk along Mickiewicza Street, we will reach the railway station in Sucha Beskidzka, where our trip ends.
